Santa Monica is its own city, but Los Angeles wraps around it: Venice and Mar Vista to the south, Brentwood and the Palisades to the north, West LA to the east. So most of our Los Angeles calls come from within a few miles of the beach. Further east, we book by appointment and group visits by neighborhood. Across Los Angeles the roof check changes with the distance from the water. Near Venice and Playa del Rey it is rust on caps, chase covers and flashing. Inland it shifts to crowns cracked by heat and to mortar loosened by the 1994 Northridge earthquake, which damaged chimneys across the city.
